Harvest is Here!

Harvest season is upon us! We started shaking trees and raking up pecans yesterday. However, right now it’s a waiting game due to all of this (much needed) rain. The equipment simply won’t function in the rain: wet leaves, wet dirt, and wet pecans just can’t be separated by the fans. So we’re harvesting when we can, but it’s slow going.

Look in the teeny tiny distance and you can see a cotton picker harvesting! Dual harvesting! (Harvesting duel?)

After this, we’ll send the nuts to be cleaned and shelled, just down the road at a cleaning plant in Hawkinsville and a sheller in Fort Valley. And then we will finally be able to fry them up and start taking orders!
